CONCEPT

The concept of the website design was the reflect the atmosphere of what the burning house might be like. Through textures and 3D designs, we are able to build the 3D house in a virtual space and will integrate high level concepts from the album into the website.

VIDEO ROOM

This is the first room users will see as they enter the house. They are able to interact with VHS tapes to open videos that play directly from Youtube to help with streams. 

FUTURE IDEA: one idea we had is to have several extra VHS tapes that lead to other inspirational videos for Zay, whether it be music or whatever. Something that inspired this album or has a connection to this time in his life.

MUSIC ROOM

In this room users will be able to stream the album as they do other stuff on the site. The music continues playing regardless where you are in the experience. We have a version where Spotify API is installed so users can directly login and stream, but we were unable to finish it due to time / budget. In this version we have an embed to SoundCloud which can do a similar thing even if a user doesn’t have a streaming service.

FUTURE IDEA: one idea is to design the speakers closer to a pair that was iconic for Zay. we could also add an easter egg on this page like a pair of headphones lying on the ground in the back, and that would lead to a secret freestyle or music element.

MERCH ROOM

In this room users will be able to see all the merch for THIB. Links go to corresponding Shopify products. In the future it is possible to integrate Shopify directly with the website, but it would require at least 3 month build time. CDs and Vinyls are missing in this version, but easy to implement.

SECRETS

Like we mentioned in each room section, we can have easter eggs in each room that relate to what’s currently in the room. 

For music, we could have a small snippet, for merch, a secret drop. For general purpose ones, we could build mini experiences inside the house. One idea we had was to integrate the coloring book and build a digital way to color pages. The only way to access would be an easter egg, so its a if you know, you know kind of thing.

Part of this concept would be to change where and what the Easter Egg is every week, or 2 weeks. This will create an interactive experience with the album that will get fans checking the website almost everyday to find new things. Below are some parts of the experience we could easily place easter eggs and it would be generally difficult for people to get to them.
